Unchanged, unchained, eternally free

In the quiet of the morning light,
Where shadows dance and dreams take flight,
I find a truth so pure, so clear,
A whisper in my soul I hear.

To be the person I am meant to be,
Unbound by chains, forever free,
No masks to wear, no roles to play,
Just me, in every single way.

The world may press, may try to mold,
Its voice may sternly, loudly scold,
But deep within, my spirit knows,
The path to take, the way it goes.

I’ll paint my sky with colors bold,
Sing my song, let stories unfold,
For in this heart, a fire burns bright,
A beacon in the darkest night.

I won’t conform, won’t bend, won’t break,
For other’s dreams, I won’t forsake,
The essence of my truest self,
For fleeting praise or worldly wealth.

I’ll laugh, I’ll cry, I’ll dance, I’ll sing,
Embrace the joy each day can bring,
And though the winds of change may blow,
My roots are strong, my soul will grow.

For in this life, to thine own self be true,
No greater gift, no grander view,
Than living as the one you are,
A shining, constant, brilliant star.

So let them speak, let critics jeer,
Their words can’t touch what I hold dear,
The freedom to be wholly me,
Unchanged, unchained, eternally free.
