Heart and Soul on the Line

(Verse 1)
I woke up every morning, coffee in hand,
Chasin’ dreams in a town that didn’t understand.
Gave my all to that nine-to-five grind,
But the harder I worked, the more I fell behind.

(Chorus)
I poured my heart and soul into that place,
Thought they’d see the fire, thought they’d know my face.
But when the chips were down, they turned away,
Left me standing here, with nothing more to say.
Oh, I gave them my best, but they didn’t care,
Just a ghost in the shadows, a soul laid bare.

(Verse 2)
I clocked in early, stayed late at night,
Sacrificed my dreams, thought I was doing right.
But when the praises came, they were few and far,
Now I’m just a memory, like an old guitar.

(Bridge)
Now I’m picking up the pieces, finding my own way,
Learning to let go of the words I couldn’t say.
I’ll rebuild my spirit, I’ll find a brand-new song,
No more pouring love where it don’t belong.

(Outro)
So here’s to the dreamers, who give it all they’ve got,
Don’t let ‘em take your heart, don’t let ‘em steal your spot.
You’re worth more than the pain, more than the strife,
Find your own path, and live your own life.
Yeah, find your own path, and live your own life.
