Three Rings and a Heart

(Verse 1)
Sunset paints my old truck red,
Keys janglin’, but I’m stuck here instead.
Seven digits, one deep breath,
Ain’t much courage left in my chest.

(Chorus)
Three rings and a heart on the line,
I’ll say it slow, give the stars time to shine.
If the world burns, darlin’, I’ll call you at three,
Just to whisper “forever’s still yours and me.”

(Verse 2)
First met you at a Texaco pump,
Cherry cola, boots kicked up.
Laughed ’til the crickets took the night,
Now your name’s my only right.

(Chorus)
Three rings and a heart on the line,
I’ll say it slow, give the stars time to shine.
If the world burns, darlin’, I’ll call you at three,
Just to whisper “forever’s still yours and me.”

(Bridge)
Ain’t no distance a payphone can’t beat,
Your tired voice turns my gravel to sweet.
These wires hum the words I can’t hide:
“I’m yours, like the moon’s tied to the tide.”

(Outro)
Someday they’ll bury us by that old rotary tone,
Where I knelt once, cracklin’, “Girl, come home.”
Three rings and a heart—no need to speak.
You always knew love don’t hang up weak.
