Two-Step in the Rain Clouds

Verse 1
The dirt road’s cracked, the fields all brown,
But I ain’t stuck here on the ground.
I hitch my heart to a silver-gray mane,
Trade my boots for a hurricane.

Chorus
Oh, we two-step in the rain clouds,
Spin where the lightning crowds.
Thunder’s our drum, the wind sings low,
Dancin’ where the pain won’t go.
Heaven’s floor’s a weathered tin roof,
We waltz the storm—it’s bittersweet proof:
Even a drought can’t drown this flame,
When you’re swayin’ in a downpour’s name.

Verse 2
Mama swore that tears were free,
But I saved mine for a melody.
Met a girl in a trailer-town mist,
Taught me rain don’t need a fist.

Chorus
Now we two-step in the rain clouds,
Spin where the lightning crowds.
Mud washes clean, but scars stay true,
Dancin’s the hurt I’d never undo.
Sky’s our jukebox, cracked and loud,
Spin me ‘round till I’m lost in the crowd—
Ain’t no drought can drown this flame,
When you’re swayin’ in a downpour’s name.

Bridge
They say storms pass, but I’m diggin’ my heels,
In these thunderboots, rusted with zeal.
Ain’t chasing blue—gray’s got its crown,
We’ll jig through the end when the sun comes down.

Chorus
So let’s two-step in the rain clouds,
Spin where the lightning crowds.
Let the flood rise, let the sirens scream,
Dancin’s the only prayer I need.
Sky’s our jukebox, cracked and loud,
Spin me ‘round till I’m nothin’ but sound—
Ain’t no grave can bury this flame,
While we’re swayin’ in a downpour’s name.

Outro
When the earth cracks dry, I’ll still be high—
Two boots dancin’ where the angels ain’t shy.
