Two Become As One

She walked with grace, a sculpted, sunlit thought,
Her laughter like the chimes of morning bright.
A quiet strength in every battle fought,
She was a canvas painted with pure light.

He moved as if the earth knew his own name,
With eyes that held the depth of ancient lore.
A steady heart, a slow and constant flame,
A rugged coast that met a gentle shore.

They were two stars that charted separate skies,
Two perfect songs in solitary tune,
Until a glance, a moment of surprise,
Beneath the silver of a crescent moon.

A simple word, a hesitant hello,
A recognition in the other’s soul.
A seed was planted, given room to grow,
That made two fractured pieces feel like whole.

They built a world with late-night whispered dreams,
And shared the weight of sorrows, old and new.
They flowed together, two converging streams,
Reflecting skies of ever-deeper blue.
They learned the landscape of each other’s mind,
The hidden fears, the hopes that soared so high,
And in that tender searching, they would find
A trust on which their spirits could rely.

And then it came, not soft, or shy, or meek,
But with the force of suns that burst and blaze.
A language that their bodies learned to speak,
A fire lit to warm them all their days.
A molten gold that poured into their veins,
A searing truth, a beautiful, wild art.
It burned away the doubts and washed the pains,
A furnace glowing deep within the heart.

So let them stand, a universe of two,
Their separate glows now one incandescent sphere.
A love so bright, so potently and new,
That burns away all shadows and all fear.
