Missing You, Friend

(Verse 1)
The highway hums like a lonely tune,
Dust on the dash and a fading moon.
We carved our names where the wildflowers grow,
Now I’m driving slow, where you used to go.

(Chorus)
Life’s a winding road, and it don’t feel the same,
Not a single sunset looks at me the same.
Like a campfire fadein’ to a ember through,
I’m counting the days since I’ve seen you.
Missing you, friend, by my side, till the end—
This road keeps callin’ for you to mend.

(Verse 2)
I hear your laugh in the squeak of the gate,
Your old hat leaning where the porchlight waits.
We traded secrets for the books we swore to keep,
Now I hedge my heart and I fall asleep.

(Chorus)
Life’s a winding road, and it don’t feel the same,
Not a single mile’s a memory named.
Like a campfire fadein’ to a ember through,
I’m counting the days since I’ve seen you.
Missing you, friend, by my side, till the end—
This road keeps callin’ for you to mend.

(Bridge)
If the wind carries your voice back to me,
I’d saddle up a dream and we’d ride free.
We’d trade the hard times for a brighter day,
With a song in the glovebox, we’d find our way.

(Verse 3)
Phone rings in the middle of the night,
I don’t pick up just to hear your light.
Someday soon we’ll laugh, till our stories spill,
Like rain on a tin roof, we’ll climb that hill.

(Chorus)
Life’s a winding road, and it don’t feel the same,
But I’m keepin’ faith in our old names.
Like a campfire fadein’ to a ember through,
I’m countin’ the days till I’m walkin’ with you.
Missing you, friend, by my side, till the end—
This road will bend; we’ll meet again, my friend.

(Outro)
Until that dawn, I’ll keep your memory true,
And sing this song to remind me of you.
Life’s journey turns, but the heart knows where to send,
Back to the day we started, my missing friend.
