Fifty years of laughter

(Verse 1)
We met down by the old oak tree, summer of ’74,
Two kids with dreams and scrapes on our knees, couldn’t ask for more.
With time on our hands and the world at our feet,
We swore we’d be best friends, no matter who we’d meet.

(Chorus)
Through fifty years of laughter, through fifty years of tears,
We’ve walked a thousand miles together, faced a thousand fears.
From the highs up on the mountain, to the lows down in the sand,
You’ve always been my brother, my forever best friend.

(Verse 2)
We rode out to the county line, in that rusty old Nova,
Talking ’bout our futures, how we’d never drift away.
When love came and love went, when the nights were cold and long,
We’d sit and share a bottle, and sing our favorite song.

(Chorus)
Through fifty years of laughter, through fifty years of tears,
We’ve walked a thousand miles together, faced a thousand fears.
From the highs up on the mountain, to the lows down in the sand,
You’ve always been my brother, my forever best friend.

(Bridge)
We’ve seen each other grow, we’ve seen each other fall,
But through every single moment, you’ve been there through it all.
From the wedding bells that rang, to the kids we watched grow,
We’ve built a life of memories, more than you’ll ever know.

(Verse 3)
Now we’re sitting on this porch swing, with silver in our hair,
Reminiscing ’bout our journey, and how we got to there.
With a cold drink in our hands, and the sunset in our eyes,
We raise a toast to friendship, that time can’t compromise.

(Chorus)
Through fifty years of laughter, through fifty years of tears,
We’ve walked a thousand miles together, faced a thousand fears.
From the highs up on the mountain, to the lows down in the sand,
You’ve always been my brother, my forever best friend.

(Outro)
So here’s to fifty more, my friend, whatever life may send,
We’ll face it all together, until our journey’s end.
You’ve always been my brother, my forever best friend,
Yeah, you’ve always been my brother, my forever best friend.
