Helpless in the Storm

Verse 1
Winds were howlin’, skies turned gray,
Hurricane Helene swept our dreams away.
We lost our homes, our lives in the fray,
But the folks in D.C. just turned away.

Chorus
Oh, we’re shoutin’ out, can you hear our call?
While the rain falls down, we’re gonna stand tall.
Taxpayer dollars flyin’ out the door,
To lands unknown while we’re fightin’ for more.
Republicans, Democrats, can’t you see?
We’re the ones who need your help, not just a decree!

Verse 2
We’re pickin’ up pieces, but the pain runs deep,
Promises broken, while the rich just reap.
Sending our money to places afar,
While we’re left stranded, under a broken star.

Bridge
We’re tired of the talk, we’re tired of the lies,
While our neighbors are hurtin’, you just close your eyes.
We’re the heart of this nation, the backbone of pride,
But you’re sellin’ us out, we won’t be denied!

Outro
So rise up, America, let your voice be heard,
In the face of the storm, we’ll stand undeterred.
Together we’ll fight, we won’t be ignored,
‘Cause we’re the people, and we’ll take back our shore!
