I saddled up my trusty steed,
With dreams of galloping at speed.
Through leafy lanes, we took our flight,
A dappled horse and rider bright.
The park was packed with folks in tow,
Joggers, picnickers, and a dog named Joe.
I waved and grinned, feeling quite grand,
Till my horse decided to take a stand.
He spotted a squirrel, all fluffy and quick,
And off we went, like a roller-coaster trick!
Around the trees, we spun in a whirl,
While I clung on tight, giving a twirl.
“Whoa, easy there!” I shouted with glee,
As we dodged a lady with a cup of green tea.
“Not so fast, my noble friend,
We’re just here for fun, not a wild weekend!”
We trotted past children, who pointed and laughed,
At the sight of my horse doing a goofy craft.
He pranced like a dancer, all fancy and bold,
While I tried to look cool, but my grip was like gold.
Then came a puddle, big as a lake,
My horse took a leap—oh, what a mistake!
We splashed through the water, mud flying about,
And I squealed like a kid, “What’s this all about?”
With laughter and joy, the ride came to an end,
I hopped off my horse, my very good friend.
As we walked through the park, side by side,
I knew in my heart, I’d enjoy this wild ride.
So here’s to the horses, with spirits so free,
And the silly adventures they bring you and me.
Next time I ride, I’ll wear my old boots,
And prepare for a splash—who knows what ensues?
